The Vertical Glass Washing Machine VEGA ITVW represents the epitome of Itech quality, being the primary choice for medium to large glassworks aiming to maximize production efficiency. Our solution has been designed to maintain consistently high standards of washing and drying for all types of glass, including Low-E glass. The VEGA series comprises various versions of washers, labeled as “E,” “S,” “L,” and “JUMBO,” distinguished by their dimensions and the thicknesses of the glass they handle.
Fully automated, the VEGA washing machine is equipped with sensors for measuring glass thickness and adjusting the positioning of brushes and blowers, allowing for washing of glass with thicknesses ranging from 3 mm to 50 mm. The washing system consists of an inlet and outlet conveyor, paired with a central station integrating washing and drying functions. The central body is entirely constructed of solid AISI 304 stainless steel, with stainless steel closing doors, as well as all internal structure and various components. The motorization is independent, and glass transport is facilitated by rubber/polyurethane rollers that are anti-marking.
The washing section comprises 2/3 pairs of brushes with a diameter of 170 mm, balanced with nylon bristles of 0.10/0.12 mm diameter, controlled by 4/6 independent motors. Underneath the washing machine base, 2/3 water collection tanks are positioned to supply the 2/3 washing sections. Each tank is equipped with a stainless steel pump to feed sprayers within its respective washing section. A water recirculation system is present between the tanks, along with a resistance heater with a probe to regulate water temperature in the first tank. Tank filling occurs via a dedicated level float for the rinse tank, ensuring high water purity quality across all tanks.
The washing process unfolds in several phases: initially, a series of special pre-wash jets and hot water remove surface debris and reduce brush contamination. During this operation, sprayers with innovative nozzles distribute water evenly, minimizing waste and the risk of glass damage. Subsequently, the glass passes through 2/3 independent washing stations where brushes paired with aforementioned nozzles perform washing. Finally, the drying section, featuring an independent belt transport system, two racks with glass-supporting wheels, a self-regulating glass counterbalance pantograph, and 2/4 air blades powered by 1/2 high-pressure centrifugal fans.
Internal parts in the drying area feature high acoustic insulation achieved through additional side panels made of sound-absorbing material. The entire process operates at a maximum speed of 10 meters per minute. Operation management of the washing machine, including adjustment of roller and belt speeds, brushes, and fan rotation, is simplified through a PLC and touchscreen display. Each washing machine component is designed for easy cleaning, maintenance, and/or replacement, ensuring durability even in the most demanding working conditions.
Furthermore, to enhance installation longevity and reduce the risk of water and moisture-related damage, transmissions and mechanical components have been positioned at the top of the machine. All operator controls operate at low voltage and are equipped with protections compliant with European regulations to prevent access to hazardous machine parts. Our machinery conforms to CE certification standards.
Addition of LED lights on the outlet conveyor for quality control.
QUALITY CONTROL’2 “SCANNER”Addition of a conveyor with Glass Scanner built in for quality control of washed glass.
DEMINERALIZED WATERAddition of a 150-liter reverse osmosis demineralizer.
INCREASED PRODUCTIVITYAddition of a traction motor on the outlet conveyor of the washing machine, to speed up the transfer of already washed glasses.
SPACE OPTIMIZATIONStructure redesigned with fan placed on top of the machine, leaving the passage behind the machine free.
12″ INCH MONITORInstallation with a floor console and an expanded 12-inch monitor to allow easier viewing of the production list.
HORIZONTAL CONVEYORAddition of one or more horizontal conveyors to adapt the machine to other processing lines.
TILTING CONVEYORAddition of a tilting conveyor/roller conveyor to adapt to various needs.
ROTATING CORNER CONVEYORThe 90° rotating corner conveyor can be installed both before the machine inlet conveyor and after the outlet conveyor. Its standard length is 3500 mm. It requires a space of 4000 mm x 4000 mm. Allows rotation (0°-90°) of glass up to 3500 mm in length Enables the integration of new machines into the production line even if space in the building would not allow it
ADDITIONAL CONVEYORThe additional conveyor can be positioned both before the machine inlet conveyor and after the outlet conveyor. It occupies no more depth than the machine itself. Allows processing of glass up to 6000 mm in length After the outlet conveyor, with 2 motors, it becomes a storage zone for smaller glass sizes
