The IT117 Desicant Filling Machine is an essential tool for glassworks engaged in the production of insulating glass units (IGUs). Its efficiency allows for easy insertion of desiccant salts into the IGU spacer profiles. The use of these salts provides significant advantages to the final product, including notable improvements in thermal insulation, reduced condensation, superior acoustic insulation, and increased structural strength.
Our machine’s design is characterized by a combination of simplicity and functionality, allowing operators to work easily with spacer profiles of up to 2600 mm in length. The system consists of a 60-liter salt container, positioned at the top of the unit. With the assistance of a vibrator, the salts are precisely distributed into the spacers.
A key feature of our product is the upper tank with an airtight lid, which can be equipped with a heating element to maintain the desiccant’s hydrophilic properties, along with a double-bristle strip at the salt outlet to facilitate the insertion of spacer bars and reduce salt loss during loading. These features ensure that the salts maintain their optimal performance over time, contributing significantly to the quality and durability of IGUs, while also reducing waste during the production process. However, the salt recharging process requires the use of a ladder to reach the upper tank. As an alternative to using a ladder, we offer our IT118 Salt Vacuum, which sucks the salts from a bin or box placed on the ground and autonomously transports them to the upper tank, eliminating the need for a ladder and providing greater safety for operators.
